The Armenian Language

Armenian is an Indo-European language composed of two dialects, Western and Eastern. Eastern Armenian is influenced by the Soviet Union while Western Armenian is more widely spoken in the Armenian diaspora. The two dialects have similar vocabularies but different grammar and pronunciation. The original dialect of Armenian is called grabar. The alphabet consists of 38 letters whose look is influenced by the Greek language.
